Tim Richardson is a journalist, historian and activist, and the founder-director of the Chelsea Fringe Festival. Based in London, but with an international presence, this unfunded, volunteer-run annual festival of garden-based activities is now in its eighth year, having fostered more 1,700 events. As a writer, Tim is the author of numerous books on garden topics, including The New English Garden, Avant Gardeners, Arcadian Friends and Oxford College Gardens. He teaches landscape history at the University of London and is a landscape consultant to the National Trust.
